Ong Cheng Qi

Cheng Qi graduated with a Bachelor of Psychology (HONS) from Disted College, Penang. 

His involvement with children with special needs was not planned – it happened by accident. To fulfil his internship requirement while studying at Disted, he took up a role at a centre that provided intervention programs for children with special needs.

It was during this internship that Cheng Qi discovered his love for such children. He gained valuable experience assisting the educators care for these children. He found great joy observing even the slightest progress they made. This realization was what drove him to pursue a career in special education needs.

Cheng Qi’s aspiration is to help children with special learning needs achieve new heights, while enjoying themselves in the process. Together with the current team at Oaktree Resource Centre, he hopes to make a difference in the lives of all the children at the centre.
